    Anonymous asked: Are women more likely to be asexual than men? And why is this?

    That’s a very interesting way to ask the question… in all but one study of asexuals the sample of asexuals had more (significantly more) women than men. If we figure that at any given time roughly 1-3% (depending on the study) of the population is asexual and women and men hover around 50/50 as far as world population then I suppose, in a very small way, women are more likely to be asexual… Maybe 2% of women compared to 1% of men if you go with the high estimate of 3% or a similar ratio breakdown for other estimates which I suppose would still suggest “twice as likely” ? But I’m not sure how I feel about that as a definitive statement… more like I’m thinking out loud… but if I think of a better way to answer your question I’ll come back to it…
